English translation of the classic code of law for Sephardim
The Ben Ish Hai is the standard Code of Law for Sephardim, as the Mishnah Berurah is for Ashkenazim. It was written by the renowned Jewish leader, Hacham Yosef Hayyim z"l of Baghdad (1883-1909).

The Ben Ish Hai synthesizes the laws and customs of the Kabbalists with those of the Poskim in ways that allow even laymen to perform the mitzvot and pray in accordance with the Kabbalistic traditions. His rulings are presented in a concise, orderly way that perfectly harmonizes and unites the opinions of Poskim and Kabbalists, clarifying doubts and differences of opinion that had remained unresolved for generations.

Torah giants have regarded the Ben Ish Hai's decisions as absolute and binding, and until today Sephardic communities around the world continue to adhere to his Halachic standard.

This new, revised edition is available as a four-volume slipcased set and includes a selection of responsa from the author's other works.
